Global Warming Concert : Live Earth

global warming concert

Although the point of the Live Earth concert that took place this summer on July 7, 2007 was noble, it has received criticism because of the fact that the events were not entirely environmentally friendly themselves, as the large crowds there generated a lot of waste. However, the fact that they did raise money for a great cause is nothing to sneeze at.

Live Earth was organized by Kevin Wall, CEO of Control Room--a company that produces concerts globally, and former Vice President Al Gore and was featured in 8 cities around the globe: New York, Tokyo, Sydney, Hamburg, Shanghai, London, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and featured more than 150 music artists, both legendary and the newest chart-toppers. Everyone from The Police, to Madonna, to Kanye West and Jack Johnson played to support the green cause. For 24 hours, their music played across 7 continents in order to call corporations, people and their governments to action on the impending climate crisis.
